In addition to our usual Yoga Detox Retreat, we are also offering a Raw Vegan Food Detox retreat in Puglia, Italy.
Lauren, one of Algarveyoga's prime yoga teachers, will be leading this retreat. Lauren has been leading Detox Retreats for 14 years and teaching Yoga for 20 years. She loves sharing the aspects of healthy and happy living with others.
This Raw Vegan Food Detox Retreat is about giving the body a break from all the possibly energy zapping food items we put into it, such as sugar, meat, dairy, wheat, processed foods, caffeine, alcohol... and showering it instead with an abundance of deliciously healthy raw vegan treats.
You certainly don't have to be a 'raw foodist' or a 'vegan' or a 'raw vegan' to join this retreat. No matter what your normal eating regime entails, simply come and explore a different and healthy way to eat and live. You'll learn new things about food and the preparation there of, and at the same time you'll get to enjoy delicious and healthy food. You won't go hungry, but will feel satisfied because all meals are balanced and provide sufficient nutrients to sustain you.
On the retreat, we will look at the various motivations behind such a diet, but we are by no means trying to convince you that you should become a raw vegan. We have an attitude that everyone has their own path and their own journey, and we simply aim to encourage you to look within, to get to know your body, and to find what best suits you - your body, mind, spirit, life-style, social interactions etc. This is a part of that inner inquiry and investigation.
By combining this healthy diet with two yoga classes each day, meditation sessions and talks on healthy living and yoga philosophy you give your body, mind and spirit a boost of energy and vitality. You also experience what it feels like to live a healthy lifestyle for body, mind and spirit... and hopefully, this experience will motivate you to continue once you return home.
The Yoga & Raw Vegan Food Detox Retreat is held in Solari, a beautiful restored trullo (a traditional dry stone hut with a conical roof, generally constructed as temporary field shelters and storehouses or as permanent dwellings by small proprietors or agricultural labourers) which has been tastefully modernised to provide comfortable and spacious living.
The trullo is set in five acres of peaceful countryside, surrounded by olive groves and fruit trees where you can peacefully wander or find a quiet spot to sit and relax. There is also a beautiful private, heated pool for you to use or lounge around soaking up the early spring rays of sun.
The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, all with underfloor heating and en-suite bathrooms.
The yoga and meditation space is also heated if necessary and there's also an outdoor yoga space for those warm, sunny spring afternoons.
The venue is just 30 minutes from Brindisi or an hour fromBari, and is easily reached by Ryanair flights from London Stansted or British Airways from Gatwick, as well as regular connections from Rome and Milan. Alternatively, fly and drive to Puglia from Naples or Rome.
